Job Description: As a Senior Network Specialist in the Process Automation (PA) department, your role is essential. You ensure the technical and functional health of our network. With your knowledge of network management, including security, you and your team will take on the challenge of keeping our network safe.

Your Role: As a Senior Network Specialist, you will be responsible for the PA network environment, firewalls, load balancers, and network connections. Your responsibilities include:
• Proactively ensuring the highest level of network infrastructure availability.
• Making sure there is sufficient capacity, functionality, performance, and scalability.
• Ensuring that ‘security by design’ is reflected in all aspects of the work.
• Proactively testing the security of existing infrastructure and advising on improvements.
• Monitoring system performance for potential bottlenecks, identifying and implementing possible solutions.
• Managing and monitoring security, backup, and redundancy strategies.
• Actively participating in the design of information and operational support systems.
• Taking care of 2nd and 3rd line level support.
• Connecting your suppliers and colleagues inside and outside your own department for problem-solving.
• Providing solicited and unsolicited advice about improvements.
Requirements: To be successful in this role, we ask the following from you:
• HBO education or thinking level.
• Experience in coordinating projects.
• Experience managing a network environment.
• A driving license B, which allows you to work outside office hours and on-call duty if necessary.
• Experience with work in an industrial environment/process automation is an advantage.
• Knowledge of Fortinet, Juniper, Hirschmann network equipment is an advantage.
• Experience working in a government organization is an advantage.
We Offer: You will have excellent employment conditions:
• A salary between €4,299 and €5,940 (scale 11 for medior) or €4,775 and €6,698 (scale 12 for senior) per month for 36 hours per week.
• An allowance on top of your salary of no less than 21%. You can have this paid out in extra days off, training or salary.
• Ability to perform your work both at home and in the office.
• Possibility of flexible working hours, depending on your work.
• A generous training budget of €6,000 for you personally.
• Travel allowance or a home work allowance of € 3 net per day working from home.
• A reimbursement of a maximum of €850 to set up your home workplace.
• Pension insurance through the ABP Pension Fund.
