Job Description: As a Network Specialist in the Process Automation (PA) department, you are essential for maintaining, developing, and building our network technically and functionally operational. You have extensive knowledge of all aspects of networking, including security. This makes you indispensable for vital processes, including the purification of wastewater and the production of drinking water.

Your Role: As a Network Specialist, you will be responsible for the PA network environment, firewalls, load balancers, and network connections. You proactively ensure the highest level of network infrastructure availability.
Your responsibilities include:
• Ensuring there is sufficient capacity, functionality, performance, and scalability.
• Ensuring that ‘security by design’ is reflected in all aspects of the work.
• Proactively testing the security of existing infrastructure and advising on improvements.
• Monitoring system performance for potential bottlenecks, identifying, and implementing possible solutions.
• Managing and monitoring security, backup, and redundancy strategies.
• Actively participating in the design of information and operational support systems.
• Providing 2nd and 3rd line level support.
• Connecting your suppliers and colleagues inside and outside your own department for problem-solving.
• Providing solicited and unsolicited advice about improvements.
Requirements: To be successful in this role, we ask the following from you:
• HBO education or thinking level.
• Experience managing a network environment.
• A driving license B, which allows you to work outside office hours and on-call duty if necessary.
• Experience with work in an industrial environment/process automation is an advantage.
• Knowledge of Fortinet, PRTG, Juniper, Hirschmann network equipment is an advantage.
• Experience working in a government organization is an advantage.
We Offer: You will have excellent employment conditions:
• Between €3,874 and €5,271 (scale 10) gross per month for 36 hours per week.
• In addition to your monthly salary, you build up no less than 21% of your salary in Individual Choice Budget (IKB). With this, you can, for example, buy extra leave hours, fund training, or have it paid out as a salary.
